Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is the Madison Society?

A.: In an effort to turn the tide of apathy from the political spectrum, a group of patriots in Modesto, CA, gathered together to build a solution. In the battle to win back our Second Amendment rights, Americans have previously spent endless hours  making hollow phone calls to legislators and have maxed out their pocket books attempting to rally and stir up political support. Yet, the bills are passed. Our phone calls are left unheeded, and our letters sit unread. There is only one solution to this growing problem in America: to aggressively seek out court challenges to anti-gun legislation no matter where it occurs (at the city, county, and state level). From this philosophy emerged a rapidly growing organization of patriots: The Madison Society.

Q. So, what you're saying is that you sue?

A.: Yes. But, we also file "Amicus Briefs." The phrase "Amicus Curiae" means "a person invited to advise a court on a matter of law in a case to which he is not a party". In Latin, amicus curiae literally means "friend of the court." In our amici curiae we define issues as we believe supports the right of citizens to "keep and bear arms."

Q. How do you afford to do all of this?

A.: We have established a "Legal Offensive Fund." The Madison Society raise money by holding shootout, dinners and other events, as well as special drawings, donations, and membership dues.

Q. When and where do you have your meetings?

A.: We have our meetings on every 4th Monday of the month. We meet in the conference room of the Modesto Police Station, Modesto. (600 10th Street, Modesto CA 95354) Please call us at (800) 446-4499.
